This step reflects the government’s commitment to maintaining momentum in the construction of homes for deserving families and providing them with a roof of their own. According to the spokesperson, more than 121,000 families have so far been provided with interest-free loans, while over 26,000 additional families will be able to receive installment payments immediately. At present, more than 43,000 houses are under construction across the province, demonstrating the scale and pace of the program.
The spokesperson further stated that more than Rs. 172 billion has been spent so far on house construction under the program, while over Rs. 6 billion has been successfully recovered. In addition, more than 112,000 families have been issued the second installment to complete the construction of their homes.
The government has set a target of constructing 500,000 houses over the next five years, which will be achieved in phases. According to the spokesperson, a large number of deserving families are benefiting from the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program, and the loan disbursement process has been kept simple, transparent, and merit-based.
The spokesperson added that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision is truly transforming lives, and the program is proving to be a significant step toward social and economic stability in the province.

During the detailed site inspection, the CEO CBD Punjab assessed progress on various development components and evaluated the standards being maintained across the project. A key focus of the visit was the inspection of finishing materials for the Public Realm. He thoroughly examined samples of tiles, granite, planters, streetlights, and pathway lighting to ensure that only premium-quality materials are utilized in line with international standards.
The visit was attended by Executive Director Technical Riaz Hussain, Director Architecture & Planning Sameer Aftab Sial, Director Construction Asif Babar, Director Project Management Asif Iqbal, Director Engineering Omar Hayat, Project Manager NSIT City Yasir Saifullah, along with other senior officials of CBD Punjab, NESPAK, and project contractors.
While reviewing the development works, CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin emphasized the importance of delivering world-class infrastructure in accordance with the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz. He directed the teams to ensure the use of top-quality materials, strict adherence to timelines and acceleration of construction activities without compromising on standards.

Strict monitoring of projects underway under the Chief Minister Punjab Development Program continues across the province. A high-level review meeting was chaired by Secretary Housing Punjab, Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, during which Managing Directors of WASAs from various districts briefed the forum on the progress achieved so far. Addressing the meeting, Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal stated that development works are progressing at an accelerated pace in ten districts of Punjab, adding that negligence in implementing safety protocols will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He informed that the Housing Department is currently supervising development projects in fifteen districts. A detailed review of ongoing projects was conducted for Jhang, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Jhelum, Okara and Sargodha. Directions were also issued for mobilization in Nankana Sahib, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Multan. The Secretary emphasized that districts are competing in terms of quality and pace of work. He directed that day and night shifts be monitored separately to ensure efficiency and timely completion. Contractors demonstrating outstanding performance will be awarded commendation certificates.
He further warned that strict action will be taken against officers and contractors found negligent in their duties. Ensuring safety measures at construction sites must remain a top priority. All staff members and site officers have been directed to strictly implement safety protocols. Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal reiterated that, on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, a rigorous monitoring mechanism has been put in place to ensure transparency, quality and compliance across all development projects.
