Multan’s real estate market is witnessing fresh activity as the Multan Development Authority moves ahead with auction plans for commercial and residential plots in various housing schemes.
According to the latest public notices listed by the authority, open auction activity is planned for plots situated in different MDA housing schemes. The move is expected to attract investors, builders and end users looking for legally documented property options in the city.
Real estate observers say official auctions can help bring more transparency to property transactions, especially at a time when buyers are becoming more careful about legal status, transfer procedures and development approvals.
Multan’s property market is also being supported by the growth of planned housing projects. DHA Multan remains one of the city’s major planned communities, with its large scale residential and commercial development continuing to influence investment activity in South Punjab.
Other approved housing societies and new private projects are also contributing to market movement, particularly in areas connected with Bosan Road, Mattital Road, Northern Bypass and other expanding corridors of the city.
Market experts believe that Multan is gradually moving from traditional property buying toward planned urban development. Demand is being shaped by better road connectivity, gated communities, commercial plots, apartment projects and increasing interest from overseas Pakistanis.
However, investors have been advised to verify the legal status of any housing scheme before buying plots or files. Checking MDA approval, layout plan status and ownership documents remains important to avoid investment risks.
Overall, Multan’s real estate sector appears to be moving through a development led phase, where official auctions, approved housing projects and expanding urban infrastructure are expected to remain key drivers of property activity.

The Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) has issued a strict ultimatum to its contractors to ensure exemplary sanitation arrangements across the city ahead of Eid ul Adha, as authorities move to provide citizens with a clean, safe and healthy environment during the festive period.
MWMC Chief Executive Officer Zulfiqar Ahmad conducted an early-morning inspection of several urban areas to personally review field performance and assess the standard of cleanliness operations. During the visit, he inspected sanitation arrangements in Nishtar Colony, Shadman Colony, Tariq Road and Abdali Road.
The CEO expressed dissatisfaction over lapses observed at certain locations and directed contractors as well as operational staff to immediately improve waste collection, street sweeping and overall service delivery. He made it clear that negligence would not be tolerated, especially as sanitation requirements increase significantly during Eid ul Adha due to the disposal of animal waste and increased public activity.
Special instructions were also issued for improving cleanliness conditions at Qasoor Gardazi Road, Shaheen Market and various interior-city areas. Sanitation teams were directed to maintain continuous monitoring, ensure rapid response and address public complaints without delay.
Zulfiqar Ahmad said that maintaining a clean environment for residents is the top priority of the Multan Waste Management Company. He warned that contractors showing poor performance would face strict action under the company’s operational rules.
According to MWMC officials, a comprehensive cleanliness strategy has been finalized for Eid-ul-Adha. The plan includes enhanced waste collection, active field supervision, deployment of sanitation staff in key areas and quick disposal of waste to maintain high cleanliness standards across Multan throughout the Eid days.

The divisional administration has stepped up enforcement actions against illegal constructions and encroachments along the under construction Multan Avenue Road project, signaling a zero tolerance policy toward violations that hinder public infrastructure development.
The directives were issued during a high level meeting chaired by Commissioner Amir Karim Khan on Tuesday, where officials reviewed ongoing development work and regulatory challenges associated with the Multan Avenue corridor. Emphasizing strict compliance with urban planning rules, the commissioner ordered an across the board crackdown on buildings constructed in violation of approved maps, setback requirements, and commercialization policies.
Authorities have been directed to immediately remove illegal ramps, unauthorized access points, and all forms of encroachments obstructing service roads. The commissioner underscored that projects funded through public resources must remain free from illegal occupation, adding that no leniency would be shown in enforcing regulations.
To streamline the operation, the Multan Development Authority (MDA) and District Council have been tasked with compiling a comprehensive record of all unauthorized constructions along the route. The goal is to ensure that service roads remain fully accessible for public use and that future violations are effectively prevented.
In a move to sustain enforcement, the commissioner also ordered the formation of a dedicated patrolling unit. This unit will monitor the corridor regularly and take immediate action against illegal road cuts, fresh encroachments, and any damage to public property.
Senior officials, including MDA Additional Director General Attaul Haq and Director Development Multan Division Mubashirur Rehman, were present during the meeting.
Separately, the commissioner visited the under construction road connecting Nag Shah Flyover to Sher Shah Interchange, where he reviewed progress and directed the contractor to complete the Rs119 million project within two months. He stressed strict adherence to timelines and construction quality standards.
The 3.05 kilometre road project is expected to significantly improve connectivity between the motorway and Multan city, helping ease traffic congestion and enhance urban mobility. The project includes a 24 foot wide dual carriageway on both sides, modern carpeting, and supporting infrastructure.
According to XEN Highways Haider Ali, the development plan incorporates 8-inch asphalt layering, application of tack coat, lane markings, installation of 2,376 cat’s eyes, and 10 road signboards.
Officials noted that the project addresses a long-standing demand for improved traffic management and urban connectivity in Multan, and once completed, it is expected to bring substantial relief to daily commuters.
