A widow and school teacher has appealed to authorities for a proper investigation after officials from the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) demolished her house in LDA Avenue 1, Lahore, claiming that she had illegally constructed shops on a residential property.
The woman said the house plan had been officially approved and denied for misusing the property for commercial purposes.
She alleged that LDA officials demolished the house without prior notice or proof of any violation.
According to the widow, she purchased the plot in 2002, and the building map for the house was approved by the authorities.
She insisted that the property was used strictly for residential purposes and requested a fair inquiry into the matter.
She said the demolition has left her without a home and urged the authorities to investigate whether the action was justified.
LDA Orders Inquiry Following the incident, the Director General of LDA has ordered a proper investigation into the demolition to determine whether procedures were followed correctly.
Officials say the inquiry will examine the approval documents and the circumstances surrounding the operation.
LDA spokesperson said the house map had been approved, but authorities found shops being constructed on the residential property, which violated planning regulations.
He stated that the illegally constructed shops were demolished during the operation, adding that the action was taken in accordance with regulations
The widow has urged authorities to ensure a transparent and impartial investigation, saying she wants the truth to emerge and justice to be served.
Officials say the inquiry will clarify whether the demolition was lawful or if procedural lapses occurred.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore has arrested a deputy secretary of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) in connection with a Rs170 million corruption case involving alleged bribery and misuse of authority.
According to FIA officials, Muhammad Akram, a deputy secretary at the ETPB, is accused of receiving Rs170 million from a citizen to facilitate the lease of around 200 ETPB-owned plots in DHA Phase-VI through an auction process.
Investigators further allege that the accused acquired significant assets beyond his known sources of income, including a 751-square-yard residential plot in Lahore Cantt, a house on Tufail Road, a luxury vehicle, and additional cash payments received as bribes.
The FIA stated that fraudulent documentation, including fake sale agreements and third-party transactions, was used to conceal the alleged corruption. The inquiry reportedly found substantial evidence of bribery, abuse of official authority, and inconsistencies in the suspect’s financial disclosures.
A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947, along with relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code. Authorities say investigations are ongoing to identify the involvement of other ETPB officials and private individuals in the case.

A major revelation has surfaced regarding alleged collusion between officials and staff of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), resulting in billions of rupees in government recoveries from housing societies being adversely affected.
According to sources, outstanding dues for sewerage and drainage services from several major housing schemes in the city have not been recovered for many years.
Reports indicate that large housing schemes located along Canal Road, Raiwind Road, Harbanspura, GT Road, Johar Town, Kahna Road, Saggian, and Ferozepur Road are utilizing WASA’s infrastructure, including the public sewerage system, drainage network, and major disposal channels, without paying the required taxes and charges.
Sources claim that each major housing scheme owes millions of rupees, with the total outstanding amount reaching billions. Allegations have also emerged that some WASA officials and staff have allegedly made informal ‘arrangements’ with the owners of these schemes, resulting in a lack of proper recovery efforts.
On the other hand, the management of these housing societies is also accused of collecting millions of rupees monthly from residents in the name of sewerage and other services, but instead of depositing these funds into the government treasury, the money is allegedly being used for personal purposes.
