A proposal has been prepared to allocate Rs 52 billion for the Punjab Board of Revenue in the upcoming budget. According to details, the budgetary volume for 27 new development schemes has been set at Rs 17.03 billion.
An amount of Rs 90 million will be earmarked for the digitization of land records in seven districts, while Rs 530 million will be allocated for the construction of rural roads and link roads in Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur.
In Lahore, an integrated disaster management system will be established at a cost of Rs120 million. The provincial government has also proposed allocating more than Rs 500 million for the construction and rehabilitation of deputy commissioners’ and commissioners’ offices across Punjab.
An amount of Rs559.8 million will be released for ongoing projects of the Board of Revenue, while Rs 50 million has been proposed for protection work against erosion caused by the Chenab River.
For the construction of deputy commissioner complexes and emergency operation centres in Kot Addu and Murree, Rs50 million each is expected to be approved. A sum of Rs 530 million has been proposed for the Cholistan Development Authority, while Rs 290 million will be allocated for the construction of a complex.
A disaster risk reduction project worth Rs 40 million will also be approved for flood protection measures. Separately, Rs 336 million has been proposed for ongoing projects of the Board of Revenue, while Rs4.82 billion has been suggested for new schemes.
In Hafizabad, Rs 60 million will be released for the installation of two 50 kilowatt solar systems at the deputy commissioner’s office and camp office. A Rs 50 million project will also be approved in Mianwali to protect areas along the Indus River from erosion.
The budget proposals further include the allocation of funds worth millions of rupees for the renovation of the assistant commissioner’s house and deputy commissioner’s office in Rawalpindi and Attock. In addition, Rs46.3 million is being allocated for the improvement of tehsil complexes in Pasrur and Daska.

UK based real estate group One Homes has announced a $35 million investment in Lahore for a new luxury high-rise residential project. The announcement is being seen as a major step in the company’s renewed investment activity in Lahore after the successful completion of its One Canal Road project.
The company has acquired a prime site on Raiwind Road, where its new residential development will be launched. The investment comes after the completion of One Canal Road and the handover of units to buyers. One Canal Road was designed by internationally renowned Miami-based architect Kobi Karp, while its interiors featured Versace Ceramics.
One Canal Road set a new benchmark for luxury residential prices in Lahore. A 10,000-square-foot sky villa in the project was offered for sale at Rs 1 billion, which is being described as the most expensive penthouse in Pakistan’s history.
The new site on Raiwind Road in Lahore West offers direct access to the city’s central areas. The location is only about 10 minutes away from Canal Road and the Lahore Ring Road. The 85-kilometre-long Lahore Ring Road connects different districts of the city with the national motorway network, making the area highly significant for both residential development and investment.
One Homes, part of One Group, is among the prominent real estate companies bringing foreign investment into Pakistan. The company’s ongoing development portfolio in Lahore and Islamabad is valued at more than $435 million and includes One Serene Residences, Amaya Residences and Diyar.
The group was founded by prominent businessman Zeeshaan Shah, while the company currently operates across four different countries.

The Punjab government has launched a province wide operation against illegal industrial units operating in residential areas, following the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
As part of the campaign, the Environmental Protection Department carried out a major operation in Chiniot against a leather processing unit accused of creating environmental pollution and causing serious inconvenience to residents. During the operation, officials demolished an illegal tannery and a warehouse being used for storing animal hides in a residential locality.
According to officials, the unit was involved in hide processing and leather manufacturing activities, which produced foul odours and unhealthy environmental conditions. Residents of the area had repeatedly complained that the pollution from the facility was affecting their daily lives and creating health and hygiene problems, particularly for children, women and elderly people.
Local residents welcomed the government’s action and said the illegal industrial activity had made living conditions difficult in the neighbourhood for a long time. They appreciated the intervention of the authorities and called for continued action against similar units operating unlawfully in residential areas.
Officials said the operation in Chiniot is part of a broader enforcement drive being carried out across Punjab against environmental violations and illegal industrial activities. The campaign will target units that are operating without permission and those responsible for air pollution, waste burning and other harmful practices.
Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said industrial activities are not allowed in residential neighbourhoods and warned that strict action would be taken against illegal tanneries, slaughterhouses, plastic-burning units, waste burning operations and crop residue burning.
She said the government would show no leniency toward environmental offenders and urged citizens and business owners to comply with environmental laws. She added that the crackdown against polluters would continue across the province to protect public health and improve the environment.
Marriyum Aurangzeb also said Punjab’s air quality had improved over the past two years due to the government’s environmental policies, monitoring and enforcement measures. She said the provincial government remains committed to controlling pollution and ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for citizens.
