The Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) has established a modern resort at the scenic Chiora Base in Kotli Sattian as part of efforts to promote tourism in the province. The project is designed to provide both domestic and international tourists with quality accommodation and a unique nature-based travel experience.
According to officials, the newly developed resort features seven modern pods and four tree houses, offering visitors a distinctive stay surrounded by natural landscapes. The accommodation units have been designed to blend with the surrounding environment while ensuring comfort and modern facilities for tourists.
Authorities said the initiative is aimed at enhancing tourism infrastructure in the region and attracting visitors seeking peaceful retreats close to nature. The resort is expected to serve as a new destination for eco-tourism and adventure travel in the Kotli Sattian area, which is known for its scenic beauty and mountainous terrain.
Officials added that the project reflects the provincial government’s broader strategy to expand tourism facilities, promote sustainable travel, and generate economic opportunities for local communities through increased tourist activity.

Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yaseen has termed the large-scale housing construction plan under the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” programme commendable, saying the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the housing needs of citizens.
The minister expressed these views during a meeting with Sikandar Zeeshan, Director General of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA), who briefed him in detail on the progress of the programme and other departmental matters.
During the briefing, the DG PHATA informed that the number of registered individuals under the scheme has exceeded 1.9 million, while more than 1.135 million applications have been received so far.
Bilal Yaseen said the overwhelming public response demonstrates the importance of the programme, adding that the government is committed to accelerating efforts to facilitate citizens in obtaining affordable housing.
He further noted that the initiative aims to help deserving families realize their dream of owning a home while promoting planned urban development across the province.

The Government of Punjab has abolished the use of traditional security stamp papers and launched a major digital reform initiative in the stamp duty system, enabling citizens to obtain e-stamps through an online platform.
According to sources, the new system introduced under the Board of Revenue, Punjab, allows citizens to pay stamp duty and obtain official stamps entirely online, eliminating the need to visit banks or authorized vendors for purchasing conventional stamp papers.
Under the new mechanism, users can apply for and receive e-stamps through the government’s online portal. Payments can also be made via a mobile application, after which the e-stamp is issued instantly following one-time password (OTP) verification.
Officials said the digital e-stamping system is expected to enhance transparency in the documentation process, curb the circulation of counterfeit stamp papers, and facilitate property transactions, legal agreements, and other official documentation across the province.
