Manchester City branded residences set to reshape waterfront development on Yas Island.

United Arab Emirates | ReNews International Desk
Ohana Development has entered into an agreement with Manchester City Football Club to launch Manchester City Yas Residences by Ohana, a large scale residential project planned along the Yas Canal waterfront in Abu Dhabi. The development is being positioned as the first residential destination in the world to carry the Manchester City brand, underlining Abu Dhabi’s growing appeal for globally recognised, lifestyle focused real estate projects.
Planned across roughly 1.67 million square metres, the project is designed as a flagship waterfront community that blends international sports branding with contemporary residential design. Developers say the aim is to create a premium living environment that integrates housing, leisure spaces and urban amenities within a single, coherent master plan.
The scheme is expected to feature a mix of luxury villas, townhouses and high end residences, supported by landscaped open areas, direct waterfront access and modern infrastructure. Its location on Yas Island places it close to established commercial, entertainment and tourism centres, a factor that is widely seen as strengthening land value and reinforcing the island’s position as one of Abu Dhabi’s most active real estate corridors. Urban planners note that waterfront developments of this scale often act as catalysts for wider infrastructure upgrades and surrounding property growth.
Ohana Development officials said the collaboration brings together Manchester City’s global brand presence and the company’s development expertise to deliver a distinctive residential concept. By embedding the identity of an internationally followed sports institution into a planned housing community, the project seeks to offer a lifestyle proposition that goes beyond conventional residential schemes while supporting long term investment confidence.
Husein Salem, chief executive officer of Ohana Development, described the partnership as a milestone for the company and said it reflects a commitment to contributing to Abu Dhabi’s evolving urban landscape. He added that the project aligns with the emirate’s vision of future ready communities that combine quality housing, integrated amenities and sustainable land use.
Industry observers see the development as part of a wider shift towards branded real estate, where international names from sport and entertainment are increasingly linked with property projects to enhance market appeal. Analysts suggest such ventures can help attract overseas buyers, support tourism activity and raise the overall competitiveness of urban property markets.
With its scale, waterfront setting and branding strategy, Manchester City Yas Residences is expected to become a prominent addition to Abu Dhabi’s residential portfolio, reinforcing the city’s reputation for ambitious and high value urban development.
