About Matiari District

Matiari District, located in central Sindh, Pakistan, lies along the Indus River and is part of Hyderabad Division, with Matiari city serving as its administrative headquarters. The district includes three main tehsils: Matiari, Hala, and Saeedabad. It is known for fertile agricultural lands producing wheat, sugarcane, and vegetables, as well as for its cultural and spiritual heritage, particularly the nearby shrine of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in Bhit Shah. While agriculture and small-scale trade support the local economy, the district continues to face challenges related to irrigation management, rural infrastructure, and sustainable development.
