About Muzaffargarh District

Muzaffargarh District, located in southern Punjab, Pakistan, lies between the Indus and Chenab rivers, making it one of the fertile agricultural regions of the province. Muzaffargarh city serves as the district headquarters and functions as an important administrative and commercial center. The district comprises four tehsils: Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Alipur, and Jatoi. It is widely known for the cultivation of wheat, cotton, and sugarcane, supported by an extensive canal irrigation system. The region also plays a role in energy production, particularly through thermal power generation, while continuing to address challenges related to flood management, infrastructure development, and socio-economic growth.
