About Jhang District

Jhang District, located in central Punjab, Pakistan, lies between the Chenab and Jhelum rivers and serves as an important agricultural region of the province. Jhang city is the district headquarters and functions as the primary administrative and commercial center. The district comprises four tehsils: Jhang, Shorkot, Ahmadpur Sial, and 18-Hazari. It is widely known for the cultivation of wheat, sugarcane, rice, and cotton, supported by a strong canal irrigation system. Jhang also holds cultural and historical significance, being associated with the legendary folk tale of Heer Ranjha, while continuing to address challenges related to infrastructure development and flood management.
